Cisco Fatty + YouTube Hitler

Screenshot from Fatty Cisco Hitler YouTube video.

Hitler's weighed the utility of a fatty paycheck from Cisco against the commute to San Jose and hating the work. And he's decided to take the job after all. But there's a problem. One of his Twitter posts was seen by someone at Cisco and now his application's been terminated. So he launches into one of his tirades:

How the hell did they see my tweet?!! That was meant to amuse my friends...show how cool and disdainful I am...not reach fucking Cisco employees! Have they got nothing better to do than search Twitter all day for 'Cisco'?! That's more fucking intrusive than the SS!

And things just get worse when someone suggests he stop using Twitter altogether...

Why WMG, why do you hate me?

WMG takes down a YouTube video.

So I was checking on my YouTube account and noticed that a couple of videos were taking a major nosedive in views all of a sudden. What the hell? A quick click on each video showed the cause of the problem in that cheery pink band that means bad news on YouTube:

This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by WMG.

Noooooooo. Why WMG, why do you hate me? I wasn't trying to rip you off, they were harmless videos: one was of a friend's wedding and the other was of a local Relay For Life event. I promise that no WMG profits were harmed in the making of those videos lol.

Seriously tho, apparently I'm not the only person who's had their videos put into 'no longer available' limbo (not deleted but not viewable). A Google search for This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by WMG comes up with all sorts of unhappy people posting about how their videos or the videos they were trying to watch have been taken down suddenly. Even a music video posted on a WMG-owned band's official website was disabled. WTF?

All of this has come out of a recent breakdown in contract negotiations between WMG and YouTube. WMG wants more money and they haven't gotten it so they started disabling videos left and right. Who knows if it will all work out in the end but it seems like all parties involved are losing right now. Especially WMG since it can't be great PR for them to constantly have so many people looking forward to watching videos only to get a takedown message with the WMG name in it instead.

The Three Best YouTube Hitler Parodies

The Hitler crazy ranting scene from Downfall + ridiculous subtitles = a lot of hillarious videos. And thanks to insomnia I spent an unmentionable amount of time watching them on YouTube last night (at least I had something to do). Here's three of the funniest ones:

Hitler Rants About Hitler Parodies

Hitler finds out that YouTube refuses to take down the parodies of his rant and is not too happy about it. Apparently the videos have been causing him all kinds of personal problems. He really loses it when one of his subordinates argues But sir, I could not help but lol when watching them.

Hitler Has Vista Problems

It's the last straw when Hitler finds out that there was a bug in the latest round of Windows Updates. And he still can't get his printer drivers to install properly.

Hitler Breaks His TV With A Wii Remote

Hitler breaks his TV playing Wii Sports and can't afford a new one. Now he has nothing to do but rant and stare at maps all day.

The Most Hardcore Metal Video Ev9a0r!!!!

I'm not sure but...if you run from a person and they chase you down and then proceed to touch you 'down inside'...they're probably not really your friend. Just sayin. Unless you like your friends like that.

(Warning: Do not watch this video unless you're prepared to have a song stuck in your head for days. You've been warned.)

And yeah they did do a metal version too with a few of the lyrics changed slightly. It was a little ahead of it's time and was never as popular as the first version.

Putting Things Together

A frame from They Won't Have Me.

Procrastinating

One of my New Year's resolutions this year is to make more YouTube videos. I love to put them together but it seems like I can never get as many done as I want. Why? I always think it's going to be a lot harder than it actually is. I'll get an idea in mind and then just let it sit there forever because I'm too intimidated to try.

But usually it's not that hard. And if the video does end up being difficult once I've started I'm too into it to care. Sometimes it doesn't even take that much effort to get things going...

Awesome

So I was sleepily browsing who knows what on the internet and stumbled on a site called Prelinger Archives. It’s basically a collection of old movies, ads, propaganda, and other derelict footage that probably would have just faded away otherwise. A lot of it is from the 40’s-50’s-60’s, which really clicked with me since I’d been watching a lot of TCM at the time. I started to think about maybe doing a YouTube video that would include some of that footage.

Whenever I was listening to my iPod I kept an eye out (ear open? mind…well whatever) for a song that might work with something from Prelinger. ‘They Won’t Have Me’ by The Indigo Girls with all it’s imagery of old farmers and new subdivisions seemed like it would be fun to try. At first I wasn’t sure if it would actually pan out but it turned out to be pretty easy. A few minutes of searching came up with all sorts of footage of farms, farmers, suburbia, and even the Subdivision Man lol. Awesome. Fast forward to a week later and the video was done.

So yeah, no more procrastinating when I get inspired. If I get dismotivated I'll just keep in mind how easily the 'They Won't Have Me' video came together.
